Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my timestamp say "Offline taken"?

Your device had no internet connection at the time of capture. The app used your device clock as a fallback and labelled it honestly. Connect to Wi-Fi or mobile data and re-sync NTP in Settings.

The GPS address is wrong or missing — why?

Make sure location permissions are set to "While Using the App" in your device settings. In weak GPS signal areas there may be a short delay before the address updates.

How do I change the timestamp colour?

Open Settings (bottom right icon) and tap any colour under Stamp Colour. Changes apply to the next capture.

Where are my photos saved?

All photos and videos save directly to your device's native Camera Roll / Gallery. There is no separate in-app storage.

Can the timestamp be removed or edited?

No. The timestamp is burned permanently into the image pixels — it is not a layer or metadata. It cannot be stripped by any tool.

Does TimeSnap collect or upload my photos?

No. Your photos never leave your device. The only outgoing network request is a lightweight NTP time query with no personal data.
